Videogames

There was a time I use to play a lot of videogames. If I remember well, the first videogame I played was “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time”, and I was nine years old. Ocarina of Time is a fantastic adventure videogame; it took me a lot of time to finish it, but not just because of its difficulty, but because the game was in English Language, and I didn’t know anything about that.

Now, I usually spend two hours a week playing videogames, because my academic responsibilities don’t let me spend more time in videogames. People sometimes say video games are useless, but I think they’re wrong. Videogames can give you moments of entertainment, and take away stress from you.

I think it’s not necessary to choose between playing videogames or spending time with your family and friends, because you can do both of them! Sometimes I meet with friends and we play together some videogames and we have a really nice time.

My favourite games are: “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time”,  “Super Mario World”, and “Pro Evolution Soccer”. I hope you know them and if you don’t, I invite you to play them.

Holydays

Who doesn’t like holydays? Come on! Be honest! You know you want holidays right know haha. Well, me too, I really need them. Holidays are an important part of my life; they are the time when I can (and must) get strength back to be ready to start a new term or year, so I like to rest, travel and recover my energy.

There are people who like to visit cities in holydays; others prefer to share with the wild nature surrounded by lakes, mountains and pure air to breathe. In regard to me, I like both of them. I think it would be wonderful to be in a place where you can find a beautiful city and a lot of nature, but it’s a place difficult to find, so I think the best way to find that is travelling and looking at for it.

My last holydays were very short and I didn’t have time to go out of this city, so I just had fun here in Santiago, and recovered my energy. Next holydays I would like to travel all over Chile by my own, just my guitar and me.

Abajo el amor

Well, I didn’t know what to write about, but, my friend Fernanda made me remember a podcast we used to listen some time ago, and that I would like to listen to it again. A podcast is a web site when the owner of the site uploads sound archives and radio shows. This podcast is called “Abajo el amor”.

“Abajo el amor” is a podcast where you will find radio shows that contain a conversation between a psychologist and a journalist about letters (and phone calls, sometimes) that people send to them, where they talk about their love problems, and the psychologist tries to psychoanalyze them considering the information in the letters, and using the psychoanalytical theory.

I used to visit the site once in a week, because they upload one radio show a week, but I haven’t visited it for around four months, so I will have to visit it a lot to catch up with it.
I like “Abajo el amor”, because it’s a funny way to learn.

You always will laugh while you listen it, because the journalist (José Miguel Villouta) and the psychologist (Constanza Michelson) joke all the time while they analyze each letter, and they can help people, giving them good advices in a funny way.

"Por eso vine a tomar café"

I can’t say I’m a book worm; actually, I’m very far away from that, but I really enjoy reading good books. If I remember well, since I was a kid I like to read short stories, now I like to read novels too.

The last book I have read is “La tregua” by Mario Benedetti. I consider it one of the best books I have read, and I usually read it, because I love it, I can spend two or three afternoons reading until I finish it, but the first time I read it, it took me some days or weeks (I don’t remember well) before I could I finish it. “La tregua” is about an Uruguayan man, who has been a widower for twenty years, and now he has found a new love, a girl twenty five years younger than him. I can’t tell you more about how it goes, because I don’t want to spoil the surprise.

I think everybody should read this book, so I absolutely recommend it to you. I also recommend other Mario Benedetti’s books, such as “Gracias por el fuego”, and Mario Benedetti’s poems too.

Nice and Simple

I know everything about photography!! Haha, no, I’m just kidding, actually, I’m a person who knows very little about it. I have never had my own camera but I have taken  phothographs with my parent’s camera or my cellphone’s camera sometimes. Well, I’m going to talk about a photo that I like.

If I remember well, the photo was taken by a friend in a soccer match, in March 2012. It shows me and two friends playing soccer and fighting for the ball in a hard and fought match, well, I remember that it wasn’t so fought because it was a friendly match actually haha.

Maybe you can think it’s a simple photo where three guys are playing soccer, and you are alright, it’s just a simple photo, but it reminds me a lot of persons and moments when I have shared pleasant times with friends. I also like the style and the color of the photo.

My guitar and you

“…como tampoco hay guitarra sin tecnología, tecnología del naylon para las primas, tecnología del metal para el clavijero, la prensa, la gubia y el barniz, las herramientas del carpintero”

(Mi guitarra y vos)
Jorge Drexler.

One of the best companies you can enjoy is the company of a guitar. A guitar is a beatiful musical instrument, and one of the most popular. Maybe you don’t think it’s a technological stuff, but actually, you need a lot of technology to make a good guitar.

I remember that the first time I played a guitar I was eight years old and I didn’t understand how it works. Through the time I was playing guitar a lot and I realized that guitar was more than just a fun instrument, it became an important thing in my life. I bought a new guitar last year and I think it will be with me for a lot of years.

I usually play guitar when I’m home, but I do it when I am with my friends too and also at the University, sometimes I play guitar when I’m supposed to be studying. To play guitar helps me to express my feelings and it give me a lot of peace. I love to play guitar.

I guess my life would be very different without a guitar, but I can’t imagine how it would be, maybe because I don’t want to imagine it.

Post 2. An Irreverent Genius

Charly is an irreverent genius.
Today I’m going to talk you about one of the most important musician of Latin America and the whole world, Charly García. Charly is considered one of the fathers of Argentine rock because of the bands he created and his career as a soloist. When he was in school he met Nito Mestre and they started one of the best bands ever, “Sui Generis”, a few years later Charly and Nito went different ways, but their songs still remain trascendental. After that, Charly continued doing music by himself and with other bands too, but I think that when he started the band called “Serú Girán” with Pedro Aznar, David Lebón and Oscar Moro, he consolidated himself as one of the best. A few years later they separated too.
Charly’s songs are wonderfull, they are works of art, really! His music is magnificent and a lot of his lyrics have deep content. I wish I could tell you that I have a favourite song, but I can’t choose just one, Charly has a lot of fantastic songs, but if you want to listen one, just check the video, I hope you enjoy it!
